Marcus is born at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD.

Marcus's stepdad, Robert McCloud comes into his life.

2002

Marcus enrolls in tackle football.

2008

Marcus leads 11-13 Laurel Steelers to the State Championship game.

2009-2013

Marcus Attends Mount Saint Joseph High School.

2011

Marcus is awarded All-State and All-Conference football honors as a Tight End.

2012

Marcus suffers lisfranc fracture in foot during his Senior Homecoming football game.

2013

Marcus accepts scholarship to play Tight End at Saint Francis University. (PA)

Marcus’ Grandmother passes away a month into his freshman year of college.

2015

Marcus finishes his first full season of college football since suffering lisfranc fracture.

2016

Marcus wins NEC Championship, the first in school history as a D1-AA program.

2018

Marcus graduates from Saint Francis Univeristy

2018

Marcus is diagnosed with mental illness after struggling with a toxic relationship and transitioning out of football.

2019

Marcus quits full-time job to create his own foundation “Alston for Athletes”.

2020

Marcus is nominated to Mental Health America’s Young Mental Health Leaders Council (YMHLC).

2021

Marcus wins Howard County Changemaker Challenge.

2022

Marcus is appointed to the Board of Directors of NAMI MD.

2022

Marcus is announced as a participant in MTV’s Inaugural Mental Health Youth Action Forum.

2023

Marcus introduces legislation that would mandate mental health training for all public school coaches in Maryland.

Marcus signs with Third Win Group.

Marcus joins Paramount's Content for Change Program during Super Bowl Week in Las Vegas, speaking on his mental health action.
